Interior Designer Tanya Jones Shares Her Favourite Projects

Alumni of Central Saint Martin’s School of Art, and previous lead designer at Fired Earth Interiors, Tanya Jones gives us a sneak peek inside some of her interior design projects.

Having had her work featured in Style, The Sunday Times magazine, HGTV, Homes & Gardens and more, getting to take a closer look at the work of Tanya Jones of Tanya Jones Studio is a rare treat.

Tanya went on to launch her design studio, having previously established the Design Service at Fired Earth, giving her creative freedom to wave her interior magic over many incredible properties.

As an architectural and interior designer, Tanya creates home in and around London that feel good to live in. She also has a particular focus on sustainable sourcing and furniture design. Past projects have included an Oxfordshire cottage for the Duchess of Kent and mapping plans for an Eco Hotel on a Brazilian beach. Here Tanya shares five of her favourite projects she's worked on to date.

1. Belsize Park - Three-Year Project

"I gently pushed my client along on this three-year project. I suggested removing all the walls to create a better layout, giving each bedroom an ensuite bathroom. Now a very cool London pied-à-terre. My favourite bit was working with my client to make braver design choices."

2. Maida Vale - An Ode to the Past

"It was my goal to create an ode to the past while keeping an eye on the future when renovating this home of 40-plus years. Reupholstering family heirlooms, bringing them and my clients up to date. My favourite bit of this project was the Cole & Son geometric wallpaper."

3. Beaconsfield - A Family Space to Enjoy

"For the living room, by taking down a wall, bringing a bold graphic rug, adding seating and my client's personality, they have an extra nook for the family love to enjoy. My favourite bit has to be that Maze rug."

4. Wandsworth - An Artistic Journey

"If you're willing to do something that might not work, you're closer to being an artist. My favourite bit for this living room has to be how the lilac, azure green and blues make the Daphne Stephenson commissioned artwork pop."

5. Belsize Park - Into the Blue

"My client loved blue. So I went blue and then some. Giving him the most relaxing bedroom ever, in an apartment where everything was bespoke. My favourite bit in this room would have to be the nod to Fendi velvet headboard."
